North American Railroad Simplifies Rail Field Testing to Stay Compliant with GCOR and FRA Guidelines
Safety is a primary priority for railroads, including safety of infrastructure, employees, and the environment. Part of this safety prioritization relates to compliance with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations and guidelines, and General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR). Our customer faced complications from planning, assessing, and executing test programs across multiple hierarchies and locations within the organization, all while using a manual, paper-based system.
The railroad chose CloudMoyo Rail Operational Testing System (OTS) as the solution providing the foundation of a new, digital approach to field testing. OTS simplified their rail operational test management program by facilitating the planning, execution, and reporting of tests in a cloud-based environment. Data analytics, plus Ai and ML technologies, helped this railroad intelligently create master test plans configured for safe operating rules.
This solution also enabled inspectors to record the results of drug and alcohol tests, signaling, movement, and switching. As a result, they ensured increased compliance with federal safety guidelines, GCOR rules, and other territory-specific rules.
